PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The new Reebok Premier 4 leg pads close faster, offer more coverage, and provide the solid seal needed to win.  The "P4" features many new and innovative upgrades over the previous model, as well as a softer flex that will appeal to both blocking and hybrid style goaltenders.

The Premier 4 is a flat faced pad with a solid outer knee roll, and the stock version comes with a nice, pre-formed "S" shape.  Internally, the pad features foam breaks both above and below the knee, which help give the pad more flex than you would anticipate in a pad with a solid outer roll.  Additionally, the internal pad foam mold has a softer "FLEXCORE" boot break built in, which is great for goalies who want more flex in the ankle.

The knee lock has been modified in the Premier 4 to include Reebok's new "MAXCOVERAGE" design.  On the inside of the knee, this design features a wider, thicker knee raiser which provides a more stable landing platform while going into the butterfly, as well as an additional blocking surface when going into your knees together/ankles together "Giggy-fly" when blocking five hole shots.  On the outside of the knee, the outermost knee cradle flap has been significantly shortened, and a new, additional knee lock strap postion at the top of the outside calf flap can create an extremely wide, extremely loose fitting knee setup.  By opening up the knee, the pad is allowed to slide towards the inside of the goalies leg, which presents a smaller five hole to the shooter.  Goalies who like a traditional set up can also attach the knee lock strap to the outer knee lock flap, which holds the knee more tightly to the pad.

On the inside edge of the pad, the calf position has been moved forward and includes a 1/2" HD foam "SOLIDSEAL"  pad to provide a more stable butterfly platform, as well as an additional blocking surface on the ice.  At the knee, the traditional straps that run outside and over the top of the knee raisers have now been run through channels in the knee raiser itself.  By moving the strap position, the straps are kept from pulling the thigh rise up off of the ice when going into the butterfly.  Combined with the SOLIDSEAL calf wrap, both of these features give the pad a complete seal to the ice in the butterfly.

Finally, the P4 can be customized in a number of different ways to suit your style of play.  Modifications such as pad flex, pad shape, strapping setups, boot and leg channel depth, and a number of other options are all possible.

SIZE CHART

Reebok utilizes a "Floor to Knee" fit guide to determine the proper leg pad size to meet your needs.  To determine your "Floor to Knee" measurement, measure the distance from the floor (in bare feet) to the middle of the knee cap, straight up, knees slightly bent.  Find this measurement in the chart below, then look at the number above it to find your pad size.

If fitted properly, the goalie's knee should rest in the center of the knee cradle with the pad securely attached to the goal skate and properly strapped on the goaltender's leg. Generally, this will ensure that the pad breaks (bends) at the knee/shin and ankle as designed for optimal performance.

RATINGS & REVIEWS

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Pads I have been playing with these pads for almost two seasons now. They are my pride and joy. I recommend going all reebok (Pants and Chest) for the best fit. I bought 20k Pants and the P4 chest protector and it fits like a puzzle!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing pads From the first skate all the way until now (about 10 skates) I have absolutely loved the pads. They aren't too heavy and feel nice on the leg. I find that they slide a lot better than my old v3s. The only concern I have is their is minor wear on the toe of the pad already but that is expected so it's not a big deal. My butterfly has improved a lot with these pads too. Amazing pads, I recommend them to anyone.

PRODUCT Q & A

Are these pads appropriate?

I grew up playing hockey but I haven't played for a few years. My current pads are 34" Bauer Supremes from 2001 and I am not up to date on the new changes in pads. Would you recommend these pads? If so, what size would you recommend? (I am 5'8").
Asked by: Sobie
The Premier 4 leg pads were the top of the line model in 2012, and they were one of the best selling pads for a few years after that. They'll hold up to any punishment that you give them and they'll perform very well for you. Hard to say exactly what size you'll need, as that will depend on a few different measurements. Your best bet is to reference the sizing chart located on the product page to determine the best size for you. The Reebok sizing chart runs very true, so that should help you quite a bit. Hope that helps!

what size pad should I get?

I have vaughn v5 7490 33+1.5 pads and my knee is right at top the knee cradle. Would I need a 34 or a 35 in p4? I want them to fit me for a season or two.
Asked by: Heipfam
CCM and Reebok tend to fit a size larger than Vaughn in my experience.

Which model are these pads?

Are all of these the M1 model? Where is the model noted. Thank you
Asked by: Heipfam
These are the stock P4's that came directly from Reebok. The "M1" and "M2" designations are spec options from another retailer.

Close to a 35+2. I would recommend using the sizing guide found on the Reebok P4 product page.

Does the new knee block allow me to move up to a 33" pad without slipping out?

I have p3's size 32+3 right now and the knee block is soft so I find my knee slips out even though I wear knee pads
Asked by: Jayball
We've found that the P3's and P4's fit about the same, but you should consult the ATK sizing chart on the product page just to verify that you're in the right size. Also, the overall knee stack on the P4 is a bit longer than on the P3, which may help with your slipping issue.
