PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Brian's brings the insanely popular G-NETiK glove to the masses with the new 5.0 catch glove for 2014.  Though the glove is made internationally to bring costs down, 90% of the materials sourced for construction are equal to or the same as those found on the domestically made G-NETiK Pro trapper.  And with Brian's unmatched one-year limited warranty, you can be confident that the construction quality and performance will meet the high standards that Brian's has set in these areas over the past several years. We've compared the G-NETiK Pro and the 5.0 catch gloves side by side, and we could barely tell the difference.

One thing is for sure - this glove was made to catch pucks.  The G-NETiK 5.0 catcher features a one-piece cuff and thumb design, which features a steep thumb angle to funnel pucks directly into an ultra-wide, double-T pocket.  The pocket design and glove face are so efficient, in fact, that you can probably catch most pucks without having the close the glove at all.  Should you insist on closing the glove, the natural 35 degree "thumb to forefinger" break closure snaps shut with ease, with little break in required.  And, because the palm padding is on the outside of the glove (and on the sides of the break), each glove features a pro beef palm that all but eliminates stingers.

The backhand features a wide cuff opening with segmented backhand padding for full coverage and protection.  Over the wrist, Brian's has designed a unique 360 degree floating wrist strap that is lined with a "No Slip Grip" material.  The floating cuff allows the goalie to tightly cinch the glove down while allowing him/her full freedom of movement at the wrist.  With this design, presenting the full face of the glove to the shooter has never been easier or more comfortable.  The palm is also lined with the No Slip Grip (which gets tackier as it gets wet), and the mesh finger stalls are lined with X-static material - an antibacterial lining made of silver fibers which kills 99.9% of bacteria that it comes into contact with.  In short - no more glove stink!

Keys to a Proper Fit:

  • The goalie's fingers should extend out to the end of the finger stalls of the inside palm to ensure a proper fit. However, any more than 1/2" from the tip of the goaltender's finger to the end of the finger stall and the goaltender will not have the leverage needed to properly close and control the glove.

  • The heel of your hand should line up with the heel and cuff of the catcher. If not, the proper balance between the cuff and catching portion of the glove may be disturbed, making the glove too cumbersome while sacrificing protection.
