Reebok is the pioneer of the injected molded one-piece cuff and thumb and goalies have come to love the Reebok Premier gloves.

The new XLT features a one-piece cuff and thumb design, and the specificially radiused thumb angle both protects against repeated shots to this area, and it directs pucks into the new, deep double T-web pocket.  To further protect against puck impacts, Reebok has added ridges to the XLT cuff plastic for increased durability.

The opening cuff in the glove is detatched, which allows for great wrist mobility.  The backhand features three tigthening straps - wrist, backhand and fingers.  New on the XLT, Reebok has added a crosslink foam to the backhand for increased finger protection from the sticks and skates from crashing forwards.

The interior palm includes Reebok's "SureGrip" material to give the goalie more leverage when closing the glove, which increases hand reaction and response time.

Measure your hand from the heel of the palm to the tip of the middle finger, then consult the chart below to find the size that will work for you.

Catch Glove Sizing Chart
4 3/4 - 5 5/8 in. 5 5/8 - 6 1/4 in. 6 1/4 - 7 in. 7 - 8 3/8 in.
119 - 143 cm 144 - 160 cm 161 - 178 cm 179 - 213 cm

Keys to a Proper Fit:

  • The goalie's fingers should extend out to the end of the finger stalls of the inside palm to ensure a proper fit. However, any more than 1/2" from the tip of the goaltender's finger to the end of the finger stall and the goaltender will not have the leverage needed to properly close and control the glove.
  • The heel of your hand should line up with the heel and cuff of the catcher. If not, the proper balance between the cuff and catching portion of the glove may be disturbed, making the glove too cumbersome while sacrificing protection.

How is the feel of the Double T, in comparison to the Single T?

How is the Double T different when catching?
Asked by: Heipfam
The playability of a single or double T pocket is really similar. Some goalies find it is easier to play the puck with a double T, but it is mostly preference. I find the double T pocket appears wider than a single T.

Does having a double pocket effect the gloves ability to close around a stick?

Asked by: Anonymous
You shouldn't notice much difference between a single and double T when playing the puck.
