The Warrior Ritual G2 catch glove pushes the boundaries of innovation with it's unique design features and incredibly solid construction.

For starters, the glove features a one-piece cuff and thumb design for a solid seal against the body and predictable rebound control.  The thumb plastic tapers gradually into a steeper angle as it gets closer to the pocket which funnels pucks into a wide open, deep single-t pocket.  The face and perimeter of the glove have no lacing at all to help the glove close easily and insure a consistant closure every time.

The horizontal bars of the t-web are rigid, and they terminate into small Axy-flex "tents" at both the thumb and the forefinger of the glove.  These tents allow the tee tops to move freely inside them without requiring them to break in or break down before the glove can close completely.  With this design, the glove snaps shut right off the shelf.

The backhand finger and thumb protection are made of dome shaped HD foams to keep the padding away from the fingers and thumb.  Direct impacts to these areas of the glove will never touch the digits directly, insuring unparalelled protection here.  The backhand cuff is detatched from the cuff and thumb mold, and it features a flared design at the top for great wrist mobility.

The most innovative design of the glove, however, is the removable/replacable palm (SR & INT only) which serves a few functions.  First, goalies can quickly insert or remove additional pieces of padding at the fingertips to create either a "practice" or "game ready" padding feel.  Second, additional palm liners (sold separately) can change the closure of the glove to either 60 degrees (index finger to tip of thumb closure), 75 degrees (comes standard - index finger to base of thumb closure), or 90 degrees (full fingers to base of palm closure) based on the goalies preferences (SR only.  Separate INT palms are only available in 75 degree closures).  Third, goalies who sweat a lot can easily insert dry palm liners into the glove between periods to maintain a dry feel throughout the game.  Additionally, because the palm is strapped down to the hand above the wrist joint, the glove can be held on the hand securely without sacrificing wrist mobility.

Keys to a Proper Fit:

  • The goalie's fingers should extend out to the end of the finger stalls of the inside palm to ensure a proper fit. However, any more than 1/2" from the tip of the goaltender's finger to the end of the finger stall and the goaltender will not have the leverage needed to properly close and control the glove.
  • The heel of your hand should line up with the heel and cuff of the catcher. If not, the proper balance between the cuff and catching portion of the glove may be disturbed, making the glove too cumbersome while sacrificing protection.
