PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The 7900 Velocity 4 catch glove is a much modified version of the 7600 Velocity 4 catch glove.  It features a single-t web with a reinforced top bar that is both wider and deeper, and it gives the glove an improved shape and addition strength to the top of the pocket.  The bottom of the t-spine is offset by two lace holes to give better alignment of the puck angle to the middle of the t-web, which changes the angle of the puck into the pocket.  The internal hand strapping and retention is also a new design for 2011 that gives the palm a more vertical thumb angle.  New hand internals allow the glove to be tightened much more securely.

The palm has additional padding in the palm (when compared to the 7600) that is placed on top of the segmented palm plastic to reduce rebounds and create a softer feel.  Like all Vaughn catch gloves, the 7900 is heat moldable for quick break in and a custom closure.

  • Palm area features an internal section insert that is seamed for easy precise break-in and features an extra layer of padding in the palm to add protection and reduce rebounding
  • Offset T-web with skate lace provides a larger pocket area along with added reinforcement in the T-web top for extra support along the top perimeter edge
  • Three piece back hand protection has HD foams and a deflector ramp over the fingers to deflect impacts away from the ends of the finger tips
  • Molded cuff and thumb protection with a more vertical thumb angle
  • Heat moldable for custom fit
  • Pre-formed shape with flex seams on internal padding
  • Wide surface area to maximize coverage
  • Internal hand control straps
  • Hand padding features additional layer of padding in the palm area for added protection and rebound control
  • Mid curve front cuff surface enlarges blocking surface

Keys to a Proper Fit:

  • The goalie's fingers should extend out to the end of the finger stalls of the inside palm to ensure a proper fit. However, any more than 1/2" from the tip of the goaltender's finger to the end of the finger stall and the goaltender will not have the leverage needed to properly close and control the glove.

  • The heel of your hand should line up with the heel and cuff of the catcher. If not, the proper balance between the cuff and catching portion of the glove may be disturbed, making the glove too cumbersome while sacrificing protection.
