PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

New for 2013, the Vaughn Ventus LT90 Chest & Arm Protector provides the ultimate combination of mobility and protection.  Based off of the popular VP 9500 Vision Chest & Arm protector, the LT90 features several upgrades to make a great product even better.

For starters, the shoulders floaters have been made wider and more square in order to cover more of the shoulder joint.  Additionally, a removable cushioned pad has been placed underneath the main floater to both provide more height to the shoulder pad if needed, and also to provide more protection to this high impact area.  Underneath the main floater sits two smaller HD foam shoulder caps.  The middle cap has been made more oval and has also been extended downward to help provide better coverage to the arm pit and upper bicep area.

The main sternum protector is made of HD foams, and this protection has also been extended further down the belly from the previous model.

The arm padding has also been modified for 2013 to be more protective and mobile.  The bicep padding is wide, and now includes an outer tricep protector to guard against those high shots that always seem to find this sensitive area.  The main arm floaters are wide, they are angled at the top for better mobility, and a new oval outer elbow pad allows the floater to flex more freely while also providing more padding.  The arm padding is tapered at the wrist area so as not to interfere with the gloves, and the entire arm is skinned with Vaughn's aerospacer mesh for unparalelled flexibilty and breathability.

RATINGS & REVIEWS

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent protection and excellent value This Vaughn LT90 Chest and Arm protection offers exceptional performance, protection, mobility and durability in a relatively lightweight and quick-drying unit. Since it's a 2013 model current pricing on these make them a steal. I transitioned to this unit after spending 6 months in a 2012 Bauer Pro Chest and Arm unit. The Bauer Pro was built like a tank but was heavy and bulky. When I first put on the Vaughn I was amazed by how much lighter and mobile it felt. I wondered whether I would get the same protection in this light a unit, but after almost a year of wear it has held up to hard adult league slap shots. The unit allows you to "feel" pucks without stingers or pain in the chest and shoulder areas. Shots off the arms are felt a little more but without any real pain or discomfort. This Made in Canada unit has excellent finishing and is super durable. The arms are not adjustable, which is a drawback, but otherwise it's tough to find anything to complain about with this unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from lightweight, more breathable The Ventus LT90 C/A offers good protection, is lightweight and is more "breathable" (ie- does not absorb as much sweat/heat) than my current pad. The upper arm padding just falls a little short of the protection that I get with my Brown JB 2200 C/A.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from **New Vaughn sizing!! Ordered this full price as my old Vaugn 7000 was letting stingers through finally. Typical Vaughn perfection, EXCEPT, now the Arms are Longer than in the past. Over the past 10-15 years, my last 2 C&A's were Vaughns, and both were off the shelf Adult Mediums, they fit me great!!! This one, finally got it in the mail, arms are too long, not as long as Brians or Reebok, but still too long. As in, interfered with my catch and blocker too long. I checked the Vaughn website to see sizing, low and behold my arms are too short for Medium, so now have to order custom. Same quality as always, just be advised, now the size is different.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Vaughn C/A Yet A much better upgrade than previous generations (8800/9500) the Ventus LT90 is designed to fit in the goalie's pants and provide a perfect seal between the arms and body. Great comfort with that 'broken-in' feeling right out of the box, if Vaughn offered adjustable arms and/or different body/arm lengths, you wouldn't hear me complaining! I expect to be in this unit for the next 3-5 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's best purchase so far The protection is wonderful, once I got the adjustment right. The comfort is what made me purchase, after trying every make in the store. Once I put on, sold.

PRODUCT Q & A

are there any major differences with the lt90 and ccm cl pro?

Asked by: j123
The Vaughn LT90 will be American made and not feature the Adjustable arms that the CCM CL Pro will. Fit will also be the main difference between the Vaughn and the CCM. We recommend you try on the unit to determine which is the best fit for you.
